What you carry, No one sees, But God does!
Oftentimes people will see you smiling, but they don’t know that deep down you are carrying a heavy load. . Your’e just carrying invisible weight like a warrior that you don’t want anyone to know about. You might be silently crying inside, but yet you still get up each morning with hope even if it’s just a little bit. Hoping that today will be better than yesterday. holding conversations even when you feel like you are falling apart. Helping others even when you feel like you can’t even help yourself. Continuing to laugh just to keep from crying.
You may be carrying around
Guilt
Hurt
Worry
Sickness
Unfinished to do list
Anger
Unforgiveness
Doubt
Financial hardship
Worrying about your children/ grandchildren/ spouse
Where your next meal is going to come from
Work responsibilities
Your future
The loss of a loved one or friend
Things you have tried but failed
People who have hurt you, lied on you, mistreated you, talked about you
Whatever it is YOU are carrying and the load is weighing you down, the load is hindering you, the load is making you lose sleep. The load is making you stressed. I want to remind you tonight that the load you are carrying around is not yours to carry. It’s not even yours to borrow or worry about. Everything that is sent to destroy you, you can simply put RETURN TO SENDER- NO weapon formed against Me shall prosper. Amen!
Tonight I would like for us to talk about what we carry. No one sees , but God does and you know what He will do something about it!
Sometimes you have to walk away from people, places and things just to keep your peace. Someone tonight is tired of fighting the same fight, I know I’m tired of fighting the same fight and going through the same crap on a different day… Amen
The word of God says:
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” Matthew 11:28-30
I love this scripture because Jesus is inviting us to rest.
The Invitation (v. 28): Jesus calls to those who are exhausted—spiritually, emotionally, or physically—promising true rest for their souls.
The Yoke (v. 29): Taking "my yoke" means submitting to Jesus' teaching and joining with him, rather than carrying the heavy load
His Character (v. 29): Jesus describes himself as "gentle and humble in heart," making him a compassionate guide.
The Promise (v. 30): The yoke is "easy" (or well-fitting) and the burden is light, offering peace rather than further strain
Amen!
We have the tools we need right here and we don’t always utilize what we are given. Instead we take up all those burdens, we pack them up and carrying them with us from the time we wake up, when we go to work, when we are out and about until we make it back home and lay down to go to sleep at night we carry more of this, some that and a lot of everything.
This causes us to become anxious and lose sleep. It throws focus off the Father and other things we should be focusing on and it wears our health down. Stress can make you sick, stress is a silent killer. Stress causes high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, nervous breakdowns or we can end up walking around like a ticking time bomb to the point where we set it off and explode by doing or saying things we can’t take back. Amen!
Ask yourself, Are you tired? Are you anxious? Are you worried? What a perfect time to get more in tune with the word of God … Amen!
Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?[a] 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:25-34
(Matthew 6:25-34): Jesus teaches not to be anxious about life—what to eat, drink, or wear—using the lilies of the field and birds of the air to show us that God provides for His children.
Key Message: This verse encourages Christians to live in the present, trusting in God's grace for the current day rather than being consumed by anxious thoughts about future possibilities.
Avoid Excessive Anxiety: The message is not against planning, but against allowing fear and anxiety for the future to steal the peace of the present.
Daily Grace: God provides strength for daily challenges as they come, rather than giving tomorrow's grace today.
Focus on God's Kingdom: Instead of worrying, believers are urged to "seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness" (Matthew 6:33).
Tonight I want to know what's on your mind. What’s got you troubled? Anxiety , Stress, or Depression? Ready to throw in the towel? Are you saying what’s the use? Why keep going when things keep happening one after another like a domino effect?
We are not perfect if we were, we would not have a need for God. What keeps you up at night? Do you feel like you are simply existing?
Here are a few scriptures to help as you are going through. We studied all of these during our Wednesday night zoom bible study.
Philippians 4:6-7: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
1 Peter 5:6-7: Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
John 14:27: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
2 Timothy 1:7: For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
Psalm 55:22: Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Hebrews 13:6: So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
Joshua 1:9: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
