The word is telling us to stay ready, so we ain't got to get ready!

Mark 13:33 ("Take heed, keep on the alert; for you do not know when the appointed time is") serves as a warning from Jesus to his disciples to remain spiritually vigilant, awake, and prayerful because the timing of his return is unknown.
